The Pharmacy Technician
coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily functions of the pharmacy Support Specialist and Care Team Associates. Assist the department with business process and policy development of programs and productivity initiatives. This position will develop and analyze monthly reports and a variety of ad hoc reports to support key departmental and corporate initiatives.
Hours: M-F rotate 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm. Sat 9am-1pm every 12 weeks
Supervise the daily activities of the Pharmacy Support Specialist and Care Team Associates Sets priorities for the Pharmacy Support team and Care Team Associates to ensure task completion. Develop plans to meet short and long term pharmacy objectives and initiatives Writes policies, communications, correspondences, procedures and other required documentation. Conducts research on relevant Medicare specific Part B and Part D billing/reimbursement regulations. Provides support to internal staff, subcontractors and providers with respect to Medicare drug related issues. Ensure that all direct reports are meeting established key performance indicators Assist with new hire trainings as needed Conduct ongoing performance evaluations for all direct reports and ensure continuous training/coaching on an as needed basis Participates in and contributes to the overall pharmacy quality improvement initiatives Collects and maintains eligibility information in an appropriate and confidential manner Exhibits excellent phone and communication skills while providing complete and accurate information to customers Adheres to assigned schedule and quality metrics Assist with all MAP related tasks as needed Performs all other related duties as assigned
Undergraduate degree in a related health field required. (7 or more years of experience may be substituted in lieu of an undergraduate's degree) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) 5 years of experience in a Pharmacy setting 2 years previous experience with supervising Pharmacy technicians Extensive knowledge of the Medicare Part D, particularly the pharmacy record review, claims, billing and reimbursement rules Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements Working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies General writing skills and ability to produce work free from typographical or spelling errors Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and e-mail
Auditing experience Provider billing and/or reimbursement experience 1 year experience in managing call center experience Advanced knowledge of NCPDP and other types of prescription drug claims Retail experience Ability to delegate task appropriately to meet established timelines Ability to perform work at the same time supervise a team Ability to perform work with minimal supervision Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team Ability to work in a team
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
