\t\t\tEXAMPLES OF WORK:\r

\t\t\tDetermine initial and ongoing eligibility for the Medically Handicapped Children's Program, Disabled Children's Program, and Genetically Handicapped Program by learning and applying applicable regulations. Enter and research client information in a computer system, maintain composure and objectivity when working with clients, document case activity and contacts, and accurately process assigned work within established timelines. Create medical authorizations for services and maintain positive working relationships with the medical community. Provide resources to eligible families and coordinate services with other agencies and internal staff. Provide good customer service to eligible families and provide them with direction, answers and referrals. Maintain an understanding of all applicable regulations. Interpret medical and support services claims and approve payments timely. This position will maintain a caseload while working in a team environment. Plan, schedule, and attend specialty clinics with medical teams to serve the eligible population. \r

\t\t\tQUALIFICATIONS \/ REQUIREMENTS:\r
\t\t\r

\t\t\tREQUIREMENTS: 24 semester hours of post high school education in behavioral sciences, public\/business administration, social sciences, education or closely related field OR experience in customer service, determining eligibility for public assistance, examining\/processing financial loan applications, medical or unemployment insurance or rehabilitation claims, unemployment services OR a combination of education and experience in any of the above areas.\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\tPREFERRED:  Experience relating to database use and the ability to operate a case management computer database, Six months experience in a customer service or call center setting determining eligibility for public assistance, examining\/processing financial loan applications, medical or unemployment insurance or rehabilitation claims, unemployment services. Demonstrated experience with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.\r

\t\t\tOTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. \r

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate proficient data entry computer skills; must be able to multi-task and navigate between various computer systems; Demonstrate customer focus, be a team player, possess an attention to detail, be eager to learn, possess good listening skills, strong oral and written communication skills, trustworthy, reliable, timely decision making, priority setting, utilize and navigate multiple databases, and the ability to operate a case management computer database. \r
