Call Center Jobs on the Rise, CallCenterCrossing Reports 22,965 Vacancies on its Portal

October 14, 2013

Pasadena, CA - Several companies in the U.S. are increasing their call center employees. Latest job search on the CallCenterCrossing website shows that there are 22,965 call center jobs in the U.S. that are yet vacant. Of these, 9,839 opportunities were created this week.

Call center opportunities have risen with companies focusing considerably on managing customer experience and customer engagement. Harrison Barnes, Chief Executive Officer of Employment Research Institute, the parent company of CallCenterCrossing says, “contact-center vacancies will continue to grow and become crucial to the success of businesses.” He also informs that taking up a call-center sales representative or service agent position can actually be a great stepping stone toward higher-level sales and service positions.

Currently, the chief factors leading to a rise in contact-center hiring appear to be the Obamacare law, upcoming holiday season and the general economic expansion that is taking place. Obamacare has led health insurers and government agencies to recruit more call centre representatives, because they have to answer questions from millions of American residents signing up through health care exchanges. A news article titled “Call Centers Hiring, Seeking Customer Service Flare,” released by News Factor Business Report on 25 September, informed of many companies going on a hiring spree. For instance, Vangent Inc. was granted a $530 million one-year contract from the federal government to establish call centers specifically to answer questions with regard to health care reform. Similarly, over 600 workers have been hired in Illinois for a state-run call center, as per Mike Claffey, Chief-of-Staff to Gov. Pat Quinn. Call center jobs have also escalated in California.

Virginia-based TLK Group of Richmond is set to open a new call center in line with its expansion plans. For this the company is estimated to hire about 500 employees over the next 12 months. Likewise, the call center for the Royal Caribbean cruise line will add 200 positions this year and about the same number next year in Oregon. A call center for Harry and David is also expected to hire 800-900 people. Oklahoma-based West Corporation will also add 300 new employees over the next few months. With most of its existing customers expanding, Texas-based Culture.Service.Growth LLC will also add 300 employees to its current 250 staff .

Most of the jobs created are full-time and year-round. Nevertheless, some are seasonal and part-time. CallCenterCrossing reports 16,302 customer service chances, 707 customer care opportunities and 1,055 customer call center jobs in the U.S. Visit https://www.callcentercrossing.com/browse-jobs/jobs.html to view additional jobs categorized as per job type and the states in America.

Testimonial of the Week

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
