The Senior Logistics and Rate Analyst is a dynamic position responsible for driving the achievement of best-in-class logistics services at the least available total costs. Utilization of project management skills and application of strong analytics are required to develop and implement operational strategies.


This is a highly collaborative position, and the Senior Logistics and Rate Analyst will serve as a liaison between internal and external customers to ensure shipment deadlines are met. This requires a hands-on approach in the call center and the ability to respond to requests for shipment status and provide assistance to resolve logistics issues. Additional responsibilities include auditing and paying corporate freight bills and the ability to perform in depth freight cost analysis as well as carrier rate proposals.


Essential Duties:


The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and be able to independently execute critical thinking and problem-solving strategies.
Research and perform analysis on supply chain best practices and implement where needed
Provide support, developing reports, and setting deadlines across the American Greetings supplu chain, both internal and external
Audit and pay corporate freight invoices, build and maintain carrier rates, reconcile discrepancies, and track cost avoidance for internal records and carrier notifications
Acquire spot quotes for both inbound and outbound lanes and award best value quotes while maintaining service
Monitors and ensures shipment deliveries meet the needs of both internal and external customers, including field sales and retail partners





Experience Required:
2-3 years in related logistics field, preferred. College internship in field related studies will be considered.


Background experience in a call center beneficial.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to multi-task in a face-paced environment.
Working knowledge of logistics /supply chain industry, methods and terminology.
Working knowledge of freight auditing and payment best practices.
Utilize multiple Corporate and departmental systems as well as PC-based tools to perform tasks
