The curriculum designer has become a sought after species primarily because of the increased use of computers as a learning tool and is not going to become a passé anytime soon. In order to be effective at the job, a curriculum designer therefore needs to demonstrate skills and experience with integrating technology into teaching and learning processes.A substantial knowledge of instructional design principles, computer and online technologies, multimedia techniques and tools, and learning management applications is a must for a curriculum designer. Hence, most companies prefer to hire curriculum designers with extensive experience designing, delivering, and managing online training modules.
Along with the abovementioned requisites, a curriculum designer needs to have strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, collaborative, and communication skills. The curriculum designer should be able to communicate and interact successfully with diverse constituencies and to work independently as well as a part of a team and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
